Thoughtful details in this master bedroom. For me it is all about the juxtaposition of different textures, shapes and styles. Here an earthy natural fiber wallpaper in with an ancient and raw motif layered behind a hanging bedside lamp with an oh-so-modern shape and sensibility. Beautiful. I’m so grateful to have clients that let my superpowers loose!

I've been known to craft my own wrapping paper - one year I used a stamp I cut from a potato half and hand printed a pattern on brown kraft paper. Yes. Really! Another year I led a bow-making tutorial for some office colleagues. Another year my sisters and I decorated our Christmas tree with New Mexican dried red chilies rather than shiny red balls and it will always remain as one of my favorite memories. Perhaps this craftiness around the holidays stemmed from my family tradition of spending no more than $5 on gifts for each other - we were always crafting something special and meaningful.
