Nevada County is preparing to replace the existing bridge at Dog Bar. This is an important project and a good improvement---- but the project as it stands will ...seriously impact existing parking, trails, and access to the river. Recreational access needs to be improved, not destroyed by the new bridge. Help us make this project better! Comments on the project are due April 26. Take action now to preserve and enhance our access to the river! Details in the attached images. Below is also the link to Nevada County's webpage that includes a link to the complete environmental document, and also the hot link to the contact person at the county for this project, Jessica Hankins. If you reference the full document, go to document page 54 (or pdf page 64 of 111) and you will see the claim that this project will have "no impact" on recreation, because there is no "park or recreational facility" there. In fact, it will block existing access. http://dokkenbridges.com//dog-bar-road-over-bear-river.html If you want more info, or would like a copy of the comments being made by Friends of Bear River, you can send questions to: [email protected]
