Paradise Hills Pony Baseball 20.11.2020

Dear Paradise Hills Pony Baseball Family, Pony has extended the suspension of play through April 30. You can read the official statement here: https://www.pony.org/Default.aspx... In accordance with Pony Baseball and Softball as well as federal, state, and local government’s latest guidelines, we are acting in the best interest of our community to adhere to the stay at home orders. If we all do our part, we can help keep our families, as well as others stay safe and help slow the curve faster. We continue to be in contact with Pony officials on how the season will continue and, as of now, there are no plans of cancelling the season. It is their full intention and ours, when time permits, to get our kids back on the field playing ball again. We understand the importance baseball can be in our kids' lives. We will continue to update you with any new information we receive on how the league will proceed. If you have any questions at all, please contact us through our league email on our website and we will respond as quickly as we can. Thank you all for supporting PH! Thank you, Steve Wells Paradise Hills Pony Baseball - President

If you’re interested in your player participating in our Fall Fundamental Session, don’t forget to register as soon as possible. Our session will consist of two practices a week for a limited amount of players. During the session, players will go back to the basics and they'll be able to focus on the correct form of catching, throwing, and batting. Unfortunately, due to the health guidelines that we must follow, baseball games are not currently allowed. We are closely monito...ring these guidelines to get our kids back to playing games. The start date of the session is expected to be in October, but it will be announced on a later date, as Munda Field is having maintenance and it must be completed before we start the session. Registration is now open! If you are interested in having your player take part, register as soon as possible on our website, www.paradisehillspony.com, as we will have a limited amount of slots. If we do not receive enough pre-registrations, the session may have to be cancelled. Details to the guidelines that need to be followed by players and parents will include: Face masks will be required to be worn at all times by everyone on and off the field. Social distancing will be required by everyone on and off the field. Temperature checks will be done to all players before practice. Players will be required to arrive to the baseball field 15 minutes before the start of practice for temperature checks. Late arrivals will not be allowed on the field. The fee for the Fall Fundamentals Session will be $50. For those of you that chose to keep the Spring Season registration fees as a credit, you can have the credit be applied to this session. Any remaining credit will forward to the next registration.

Dear Paradise Hills Pony Baseball Families, With the growing concern for the coronavirus threat, we as a league will be complying with Pony Baseball and Softball’s recommendations that all league activity be suspended until Monday, April 6, 2020. There will be no practices or games held during this time. We will re-evaluate the situation at that time based on information provided by our local and state officials, as well as Pony Baseball and Softball. We as a board are fr...ustrated and saddened by having to delay our season. We not only have to take into account just the safety of our players, but also our volunteers, coaches, parents, grandparents, their families, and our community. Many other leagues have already been asked and have suspended activities as we work through the coronavirus pandemic. We will be in contact with Pony Baseball and Softball and monitor the San Diego Public Health office and the CDC recommendations for guidance on how best to continue regular activity. Our goal is to resume our season as smooth and quickly as possible. We thank you for your patience and support during this time. If you have any questions at all, please contact us through our league email on our website and we will respond as quickly as we can. Thank you, Steve Wells Paradise Hills Pony Baseball - President

Hey there PH family, earlier this week our PH President sent out an e-mail regarding this Spring season’s refund. I’ve posted it below in case any of you missed it. Dear Paradise Hills Pony Baseball family, Apologies for the delay due to issues with our website. In order to receive your refund we ask that you please go to the following link, https://forms.gle/p1yLQNLUjiKaK5HT7 and register for a refund. All refund requests must be submitted by July 31st to receive a refund.... The reason for this is that some of you may have moved, or your personal information has changed. Refunds for those that paid with a credit or debit card should be fairly simple. However, many of you paid with cash or checks and we will have to mail those refunds to you. We also will allow you to credit your account and use the fees for a future season. Some families have expressed a desire to simply donate their refund to the league and we will offer that option as well. Paradise Hills Pony Baseball is a non-profit organization and if you choose to donate your refund to the league, we will provide you proof of your donation for tax purposes. Things are starting to look better as the nation begins to open up again. Organized sports is still prohibited from game play, but the Governor released guidance several days ago for a return to day sports camps which we are looking in to possibly hosting. If you’d like to stay informed on the status of youth sports in San Diego, you can follow or contact County Supervisor Kristin Gaspar. She has been one of our biggest proponents working diligently to return to play youth sports in San Diego. We hope you all are staying safe and venturing back out now that some restrictions have been lifted. We are hoping fall ball will be in full swing here in the next few months and hope to see you all at the fields again. Thank you, Steve Wells Paradise Hills Pony Baseball - President

Dear Paradise Hills Pony Baseball Family, First off, we would like to thank all of you for your support and patience during these unprecedented times. Just as you all were, we were also anxiously awaiting the time we would all be able to take the fields again and enjoy spring baseball. As some of you may have already heard, Pony Baseball and Softball has officially cancelled the All-Star/World Series for 2020 on May 1. California is still under a stay at home order with th...e appearance of restrictions being slowly loosened. Although information has been released about a possible phased reopening in the next few weeks, we don’t believe recreational congregation such as youth team sports, will be allowed within the next few months. As a result, the board held a meeting and with a heavy heart decided to cancel the rest of the spring 2020 season. It is our hope that we will be able to resume play for our fall season. You will receive more information as it becomes available. The board has also voted to issue prorated refunds based on the registration fees for this season. The reason we need to prorate the refunds is because of non-refundable fees the league has already incurred for the season such as, but not limited to, Pony league fees, field rental fees, cost of uniforms, and insurance. We will begin setting up a refund process and notify you of the steps to claim your refund. There is nothing more that our board would have wanted than to see all the kids on the field playing baseball this season. Unfortunately, this current situation has caused us to rethink our priorities in life, our family and friends of which we are all one. Again, I would like to thank you all on behalf of the board for your patience and understanding. This league is nothing without your support and dedication to the league. It is all of you who help make this a great organization for our kids to learn, play, and enjoy the game of baseball. Please stay safe and we will get information on the next season out to you all as soon as it is available. Thank you, Steve Wells Paradise Hills Pony Baseball - President

Padre Pony Day Update: Prior to the Coronavirus/Covid 19 series of events, our league had been invited to the San Diego Padres Pony Day for Saturday, March 28. We've been in contact with the Padres and we've been told that their goal is to move Pony Day to another date. Given that things are changing rapidly as the Coronavirus/Covid 19 situation evolves, such date has not been announced. We will keep you updated as we receive more information from the Padres.
