Behold the mighty A-6 Intruder! She's half the size of a B-17 Flying Fortress yet she could fly higher, faster, farther and could carry a greater bomb load. In her heyday she was second only to the B-52 Stratofortress. Weighing 60,000 lbs, she was routinely shot off an aircraft carrier while carrying twenty-eight 500 pound bombs. She was in service for 37 years.

On a beautiful New Year's Day in 2016, Darrel Shumard, a WWII fighter pilot, was found cavorting over the sunny skies of Sonoma County. At 94 years old he still hadn't lost his touch. He flew it like he stole it. We miss you Darrel and will always remember you. Check out this video to relive a special memory: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5u7a62iS2_w
