Bengal Bus

As mentioned in our previous post, we are bringing back our weekly Saturday Wildcard Trips! This Saturday, (the 8th) we will be going to the beautiful Getty Villa. Admission is free! TL;DR: The Bengal Bus is back and we're here to make your life a little easier! Hey y'all! The Bengal Bus is back in action, and we wanted to update you all on our service, or perhaps introduce you to our work for the first time. The Bengal Bus will take any person affiliated with Oxy up to 7 miles from campus for free from 6pm-9pm Monday-Wednesday, 6pm-10pm Thursday and Friday, and 7pm-2am on Saturday. Simply download our app, Tapride (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tapride/i...d609364742), and request a ride on there. Additionally, we are now offering a shuttle between the Highland Park metro station and campus Thursday from 6-9pm and Friday/Saturday 6-10pm. This shuttle will go back and forth between the station and campus during those times like a normal bus, no need to request a ride, just meet it in the parking lot across from the station or at the front of campus. The Bengal Bus will also be restarting Wildcard Trips next Saturday, the 8th. These trips will take students to various destinations around LA, as chosen by the drivers (the first will be the Getty Villa). Any ticket costs will be covered by us. Sign up sheets will be sent around at the beginning of each week and the destination will be revealed then. Lastly, if your group/class/org/club needs transportation, let the Bengal Bus be the solution. For $14.25 per hour per driver, the Bengal Bus will take care of reserving a van, and will provide you a driver to go wherever you want whenever you want! Highland Park shuttles begin tonight! As a reminder, the shuttle will run every 15 minutes for the duration of the service. Thursdays, the service will operate from 6pm-9pm, and Fridays and Saturdays it will run from 6pm-10pm. When catching the bus at the station, you will meet the van in the parking lot across Marmion Way from the station. When leaving from campus, you will find the van in the normal location at the front of campus. Again, there will still be one van operating our normal service to any location within 7 miles of campus. As always, reach out to [email protected] with questions and concerns!

Exciting news! This week, the Bengal Bus will begin our new and improved FREE shuttle service to the Highland Park Gold Line Station. Thanks to all who participated in our survey! Due to the results of said survey, the shuttle will operate from 6pm-9pm on Thursday, and 6pm-10pm on Friday and Saturday. There will still be one van those nights operating our normal 7 mile radius service. For the gold line, there will be two vans, one starting at Highland Park and one starting on... campus (by the gym at the front). They will go back and forth between campus and Highland Park every 15 minutes for the duration of the service. All you need to do is hop on the van, no need to call us ahead of time. As part of ASOC's initiative to make LA's transit system more accessible to the student body, the Bengal Bus is preparing to implement a new service in the coming weeks. The service will include two vans, one departing from a Gold Line Station, and one departing from campus, every 15 minutes. The service will only run for a few hours each day, and only a few days a week. Please complete this survey to help us determine what days and times would be most beneficial to the student body, and would yield the most ridership.
