In such difficult times, love can shine through when our animal companions bring it out for us. Sam came to Our Pack, Inc with some life threatening bite wounds on his back. He was just weeks old and he needed immediate medical care. We took him to our amazing vets at VCA Los Banos and got him back to good health. We then watched this little soul grow into a lovely boy. He was later adopted by a doctor. A wonderful person working in a healing field, she understood what it ...means to have someone give comfort to another with loving warm energy. We at Our Pack, Inc., also working in the dog field, and having done lots of therapy dog work in past years, understand what comfort animal companions can give. But it's not just dogs that give comfort. Bunnies also have their own individual personalities that can make us laugh, entertain us, give us a sense of purpose, and comfort us when we're not feeling our best. Sam's person was kind enough to send us this beautiful photo, with permission, of Sam giving comfort. You can see him snuggled in as he fell asleep. As we've always said, dogs are individuals, but, so are bunnies. And they are feeling, sentient beings, just like other animal companions. Being indivuals, many bunnies don't like to cuddle. But, I probably wouldn't pick up my 60 lb pit bull either! They all have something to give in their own way. We're grateful we met Sam and that he went to a wonderful home that allowed him to be the individual that he is. A love. See more

We're so happy to announce that Benny has been adopted! He came to Our Pack, Inc with some nasty gut issues, arthritis and an arrhythmia. He's somewhere around 9 or 10, so he's an older fellow. After some time working on diet, a bit of exercise, he came around so nicely. Then his potential foster came over to meet him. You could see that he just loved her right away. He connected to her like no one else in the room. And happily, after fostering him for awhile she realized he really doesn't belong anywhere else, he was already home. Join us in wishing old man Benny the best retirement ever.

Older dogs are awesome. They sort of know the rules and are usually very easy to house train to your home. They are generally happy to just have a place to lay their hat, a couch to nap on (preferably with you) and some light walks. Choco here is happy in his home, napping, light walks, and snuggles. Adopt a retiree! They're the best.

I’m Eddie. I’m here talk about neuter surgery and how it can help not only control bunny population but also help well being and behavior. I’m friendly and like cats and dogs but always tried to mount them. Then I even tried mounting my humans! After I got neutered I felt so much better with so much less frustration. I also didn’t feel like I had to pee everywhere. I pee in my litter box now. So if you’re a person who has a male rabbit and he’s mounting your other pets, or ...you, consider getting him neutered so that the whole family can relax and be happier. Even if he’s not doing those things, rabbits are so much healthier with less risk of cancers when spayed or neutered. Females that aren’t spayed have up to an 80% risk of cancer by age 3.
