Today at 4 p.m., Otis College Architecture/Landscape/Interiors senior lecturer Greg Kochanowski will present and discuss his new book, The Wild, which "seeks to document the policies that have incentivized growth at the exurban periphery and reveal the risks produced by the urbanization of the fire-adapted landscape." Promise Zone Arts Storybank: Charles White Gallery The Charles White Gallery houses a collection of work by Charles White, one of the 20th century’s most influ...ential African American painters and printmakers, and serves as a hub for community art programs. Located in the former Otis College of Art and Design in MacArthur Park, the gallery houses an artist residency program run by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and serves as a resource for LAUSD students. White taught at Otis for fourteen years, mentoring a number of revered African American artists such as Kerry James Marshall, Alonzo David, among others. The gallery continues to honor his legacy.
