Out of the Box Ministries

Coming full circle! In addition to feeding people, our other passion at Out of the Box is inspiring others to serve their community. And here we are! These young ladies are River City High School students who grew up at Southport School, participating in the Southport Food Drive for the last ten years. Now they have taken over the promotion and management of the Food Drive! Ladies, you make us so proud to be a part of the West Sac community! Now, let's collect some cans!

10,000 cans for their 10th year! The Southport Ducks aren't going to let distance learning stop their annual Fall Food Drive! We will need OOTB volunteers to collect their drive-up donations at the church on Saturday morning, November 14. We will be wearing masks and following county health guidelines. #SouthportDucks #feedpeoplewheneverpossible

Do you find your self with a need for a bag of groceries or a need to help make sure others get one? Awesome Out of the Box volunteers will be at Trinity tonight(at 6:30) ready to assist! You are invited!

Hello Supporters of Out of the Box! The Red Panda at the Sac Zoo is ready for the Fall Season and we hope you are too! We are packing grocery bags to give to our neighbors this coming Sunday and we could use your help! Sunday at 2pm. There are also rumblings of a socially distanced school food drive coming in November! More info to come soon!... Our regular food packing is this Sunday at 2pm (at Trinity, 1500 Park Blvd) and we are looking forward to seeing a few of you there to help pack bags of groceries for local families. Hello Out of the Box Supporters! Some more good news, our larger national Presbyterian Hunger Program has a nice article about the good work we are all doing! Hello Out of the Box Supporters and those that may find themselves in need of food. We will be giving out bags of groceries this evening at 6:30 at Trinity! Thank you to the many volunteers going out in the fire smoke to make all this happen (We are taking care to minimize our volunteers being outside too long). Looking forward to seeing some of you tonight!

Hello Out of the Box Supporters. This is an opportunity to celebrate and remember a life well lived. Mr. Errol Summy passed away back in early March and was a key volunteer of Out of the Box Ministries who always was willing to lend a hand, a truck and a trailer. He was a mentor to many in the community including many of us OOTBM volunteers. You can watch (check out the Trinity's website for the livestream link) with many of us this Saturday morning to hear about the many other adventures that go back to World War II and earlier. Go Bears!
