It has been an honor and privilege to serve as KCDS President 2020! A special thank you goes to all my Kern County peers and colleagues; to KCDS secretary Shannon Ford; to the amazing KCDS board, thank you for all the conversations and discussions we had each month! To say that this has been a difficult year is an understatement. What has been the most encouraging is to witness the positivity and resilience of those around us! ... The pandemic interrupted KCDS business: the CE lectures were re-structured and the board meetings were conducted virtually. Thank you to members who are actively involved with the board, Dr Massoumi as Secretary/Treasurer, Dr Bowens as incoming Secretary, Dr Tangeman as President-Elect, Dr Phillips as Trustee. I would like to thank them for taking time from their busy schedules to represent the dentists of Kern County. If you are a new member, or are looking to get involved, the KCDS provides numerous resources for you. I would encourage everyone to attend events, engage staff, reach out to other members along with perhaps even joining our monthly meetings. Explore the different committees that our society offers. We are excited to share the news that our surgical assistants Akmaral and Sandra passed their anesthesia exam! All NorrisOFS staff members are constantly working on improving their knowledge! Their experience, attention to detail and passion, make their work top-quality and bring satisfaction to our patients!! Congratulations, Akmaral and Sandra!!!! Excellent work!!!

Sad to say goodbye to the graduating students from San Joaquin Valley dental assisting programs. Excited to say hello to new student starting in our practice. Please welcome him when you come in!
