Future Sailor Robert Livolsi took the United States Uniformed Services Oath of Office from retired Cmdr. Chris 'Pyro' Fitzgerald at the USS Midway Museum on the... flight deck Feb. 12, 2020. On hand to witness the occasion were his family, Cmdr. Stacy 'Stigs' Uttecht, Strike Syndicate Lead for CCSG-15, and the local recruiters who pushed him, NC1 Zachary Huckaby, EOC William Walker Jr., and CM1 Raymond Estrella. Livolsi, a graduate of San Diego State University, is headed to Navy Officer Candidate School (OCS) at Officer Training Command on Naval Station Newport, R.I. He will be there for 13 weeks of initial training for officers of the line and select operational staff corps communities. They are essential in ensuring the safe operation of shore-based nuclear power plants and in preparing the officers and enlisted personnel for their future in the nuclear power field. Naval Nuclear Power Training Unit is a 26-week course of instruction spent applying the knowledge of nuclear power plant operations in order to attain certification as a nuclear operator.
