Rent Relief https://www.northcoastjournal.com//through-the-cr/Content
Guide to RENT RELIEF in California How it works Under state law, landlords with eligible tenants can receive 80% of unpaid rent between April 1, 2020, and March 31, 2021.... The landlord must agree to waive the remaining 20% of unpaid rent during that time. Eligible renters whose landlords choose not to participate in the program may receive 25% of unpaid rent between April 1, 2020, and March 31, 2021. Renters can also apply for aid to pay unpaid utility bills and 25% of rent for April, May and June 2021. Who qualifies Landlords and tenants can apply for rental relief, but eligibility depends on tenants. Applicants will not be asked about their citizenship status. Tenants must : Have qualified for unemployment benefits, experienced loss of income or incurred significant costs during the pandemic Be at or below 80% area median income Demonstrate a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability by showing a past-due utility bill, rent notice, eviction notice or proof of unsafe or unhealthy living conditions * Some jurisdictions might have lower income requirements. Where to apply Visit Housing is Key program at housing.ca.gov or call 833-430-2122. Every city and county is distributing funds a little differently. Choose your location on Housing is Key, and it will redirect you to another site if they aren't rolling out that program. New Calmatters logo

Here's another opportunity for action. Take a few minutes out of your lunch break to pop in and see what the NEC is working on. This month's topic is the scourge of plastic and what we can do to hold producers accountable.

CH has been there for me in time that I didn't even know I needed them. I recently became a staff member with Cooperation Humboldt and in the process have learn...ed a lot about my strength and weaknesses. The development we work on is external yes, but we also work on each other as members of a community. The Status quo tells us to be prepared and to have your own back, but what I've learned from my two years with CH is that you don't always have to. You should know your neighbors, you should be vulnerable, and a mistake is an opportunity to own us, show up, and learn something new. Any amount you can give WILL BE MATCHED. WILLING TO CONTRIBUTE 5 DOLLARS? BAM YOU GAVE 10. Much love to my little community, but I reach out to my broader community to support work that helps us stay on track. Work that is not only fulfilling but regenerative.
Keep up the good work, y'all. https://www.msn.com//around-58percent-of-humbo/ar-BB1aCMqe
58% of Humboldt County voters have cast ballots already, which is more than the total amount that voted in the 2016 presidential election. If you are part of the remaining 42%, please remember to vote! Polls are open until 8pm tomorrow. Your vote is important.
