Thirty-three out of 44 law enforcement officers who were killed in 2017 were killed by a subject with a public record history of non-fatal strangulation. Seventy-five percent. A woman is 750 percent more likely to be killed by gun violence by her intimate partner after she has suffered at least one strangulation attack by that same partner. And then... there are more and more cases being recognized (now that we are looking) of children being strangled as a form of discipline or control.... and as a means to silence them forever.
