The College of Environmental Design at Cal Poly Pomona invites you to celebrate the life of Marvin Malecha, FAIA, DPACSA, on Saturday, October 10 at 10:00 AM PDT. Before becoming President & CAO of NewSchool in 2016, Malecha served as Dean of the College of Environmental Design at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, from 1976 to 1994. Last night, San Diego Architectural Foundation hosted its 44th annual Orchids & Onions Awards Gala. They put on a phenomenal virtual event celebrating the hits and misses of San Diego architecture and the beauty of the built environment. The event also raised scholarship funds for a local architecture student of color (in partnership with SD-NOMA) and featured a touching tribute to our late President and O&O supporter, Marvin Malecha. Congratulations to all of this year's winners, notably Malone Grand Orchid recipient, Perkins & Will.
