The #California State Legislature created #RosaParksDay, a day that celebrates her fight for equality and civil rights. On December 1, 1955, she was arrested for refusing to give up her seat and charged with civil disobedience. Her actions inspired her community and sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott. In November 1956, bus segregation was declared as unconstitutional under the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.
