Did you catch us on NBC San Diego? CDev's Torero Trek program was highlighted yesterday on the news! This semester, we've adapted our Torero Treks virtually to help students connect with companies and alumni across different industries and regions. Thank you to our employer partners and alumni for helping make these treks a continued success! You can learn more by visiting our website sandiego.edu/careers. Check out the story below: https://www.nbcsandiego.com//usd-gets-creative-so/2441964/
If you'd like to follow us on Instagram @usdcraeers, we'll be sharing resources and tips for active allyship to our story. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Toreros, The Career Development Center stands in support of and solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and other efforts to end the dehumanization of Black people. We reject acts, behavior, language, or symbols that represent or reflect intolerance or racism. We strive to... maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment that appreciates and values all members of the University community. To do so, we must acknowledge the institutionalized racism that persists in our country and affects many communities, in this case, the Black community. Silence and inaction only contribute to the systems of oppression, and we demand justice for those affected by police brutality. This oppression is not new. Racism and social inequality have always existed, and continue to divide us as a nation. We stand with Black communities in demanding accountability and change, and we are committed, now more than ever, to learn, listen, and act. We stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our campus partners, alumni, and students who are hurting. We see you, we hear you, and we are with you. In solidarity, Robin Darmon, Senior Director, and the Career Development Center Team
We're still here for you! We know these are uncertain times and the transitions we are all facing can be difficult. I want to assure you that the Career Development Center is committed to supporting you during this time. Please find a number of ways you can connect with us virtually these coming months on our page below, and do not hesitate to reach out if we can help in any way! https://www.sandiego.edu/careers/covid19/... Thank you, Robin Darmon and the Career Development Center
Meet Emily & Sue! Assistant Directors, First- and Second-Year Experience at the Career Development Center First- and second-year students have always had a soft spot in Emily's heart. These students often require longer career counseling sessions that explore big life questions, but her counseling degree and 20 years of experience have equipped her well to help students navigate the waters of transition. As the staff member with the longest tenure at CDev, Sue has a de...ep passion for our signature program, career counseling. Her approach to each session is to see each student as a new puzzle to solve, and her role is to help them identify their pieces and how those best fit in the world. Book an appointment to meet with Emily or Sue on Handshake! https://sandiego.joinhandshake.com/appointments/new
