Please join us tonight at the Starr King annual public meeting
Sarah Dineen celebrates Pianos on the hill 2020-style. Join us again next year when we can all gather in person. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6kwLqXcPpI&feature=emb_logo And if you'd like to support Starr King, please donate here: https://starrkingopenspace.org/donate/
This is a relaxing, meditative (ends at the best outdoor labyrinth in SF) gratitude walk through Starr King Open Space. There is a narrative involved, so please turn on the audio. Enjoy the first day of Spring!
Sunset in the city.
Did you know, you can catch glimpses of the #GoldenGateBridge, #SanFranciscoBay and #SutroTower from here? Explored #StarrKingOpenSpace first this #morning for some #FreshAir while #SocialDistancing. #LiveWorkPlayHere
The upside of Covid 19....more people are discovering and enjoying the space than ever before!
Happy Spring Equinox from the Starr King Open Space! Walks while maintaining social distance are still allowed under the city’s Shelter in Place Order. And while our scheduled wildflower walk for today was cancelled, you can still take a self guided tour. A volunteer has created a SKOS Wildflower Walk project on the free app iNaturalist. Once downloaded, all you do is search for Starr King Open Space under "Projects" (don't forget the second R in Starr) and join. People can ...then use the images and geo-location to hunt for each flower on their own. If you want to contribute you can become an Observer and add what you find. Enjoy and stay healthy and safe!
Greetings Nature Lovers! In this truly stressful time it's been nice seeing so many people come up and make use our neighborhood treasure. As you may already know, we have to cancel our upcoming wildflower walks. However, the volunteer who leads the tour has come up with a fabulous solution. She has created a SKOS Wildflower Walk project on the free app iNaturalist. Once downloaded, all you do is search for Starr King Open Space under "Projects" (don't forget the second R... in Starr) and join. People can then use the images and geo-location to hunt for each flower on their own. If you want to contribute you can become an Observer and add what you find. Have fun and stay healthy and safe! And please don't forget to pack out what you pack in. Thanks!
Greeting Earthlings! Our little patch of this blue planet can use your help ! Saturday Feb 8th is our monthly workday from 930a-1230p. We bring coffee, bagels and tools. You bring gardening gloves and a desire to help make this world a cleaner, greener place! See you there!
