Special thank you to In-N-Out Burger Foundation for a grant supporting Lifeline's LifeSpring Youth with initial move-in expenses (furniture and household items) as well as wraparound expenses. In-N-Out Burger Foundation have been loyal supporters of this program and we love them for it! The youth get to keep all of furniture and household items we purchase for them at move in when they transition to their permanent housing, so this funding makes a big difference for them. Mov...e-in expenses average $1,800/youth and are not covered by our core funding source. This support is Barrier busting by helping purchase reasonably priced items which are beyond a youth’s financial means that remove key barriers to achieving their case plan goals. . . . #BuildingSelfReliance #LifelineCanHelp #nclifeline #giveback #LifelineSupporters #SanDiego #sandiegocommunity #sandiegononprofit #partners See more

For the month of June we want to spotlight volunteer Jaime G! During the pandemic, Jaime donated six new Chromebooks to Club Crown Heights to help support virtual learning. Soon he became a volunteer and although his time is limited due to his work at Genentech, he still is a great asset. Jaime is super knowledgeable in the STEM field and takes part in all our STEM labs. Jaime also helps youth with homework and is eager to help out in our daily activities. We are very fortun...ate to have Jaime as a volunteer. - Pancho Flores, CCH Program Manager My favorite part of volunteering is talking to people and listening to their stories. It's interesting to hear how we lead different lives even though we only live 20 minutes apart. I'd also say helping people achieve their goals is always a great thing to see. It can be as simple as getting homework done to graduating high school and going to college to study. It always puts a smile on my face. Lifeline’s IMPACT (Intensive Mentoring, Parent Advocacy, and Comprehensive Trauma-informed Services) program is a client-centered treatment program for youth ages 11-17 who may be at risk of arrest. Last year the IMPACT program served 112 youth and 91% of youth clients had no entry, or re-en...try, into the Juvenile Justice System as measured by probation records six months after case closure. In November we are spotlighting Dana, who volunteers at Lifeline with Food Donation Pickup & Delivery! She began volunteering over a year ago and has been dedicated and reliable throughout all the changes brought on by the pandemic. Most people know that Lifeline never "closed" during the onset of COVID-19. What some may not know is that our food volunteers also never stopped volunteering to bring food to Lifeline clients during these challenging times. Dana has been reliab...ly bringing Costco donations to Lifeline each week and even fills in frequently for other volunteers whenever we have a gap. She is such a crucial part of our team!" - Meghan Mattioli, Volunteer Coordinator You can help make a difference too!
