You're invited to join us for our final Girls 14 & Under Pre-Tryout Clinics tonight (9/28) and this Wednesday (September 30) from 6:00pm - 7:30pm at the Momentous Sports Center. Immediately following Wednesday's Pre-Tryout Clinic there will be a Pizza Party from 7:30pm - 8:15pm in the Momentous Sports Center Dining Room where all of the girls will be able to meet the coaches and enjoy a complimentary slice of pizza and a soft drink. Meet Coach Dan O’Dell, Momentous VBC Co-Club Director and 18-1’s Head Coach PLAYING EXPERIENCE: Penn State University - starting setter from 2002-2006... -All-American his senior year and was All-Conference for all four seasons. -Played in the National Championship game in 2006, named Final Four All-Tournament team. -Academic All-Big Ten award for three years at Penn State while majoring in Industrial Engineering. USA Men’s National Team winter 2009 GC Vilacondense (professional) - Portugal 2009-10: helped lead the team to their highest finish in club history. COACHING EXPERIENCE: UCLA 2010 (volunteer assistant) 2011 (full-time assistant) in charge of the team’s middle blockers and defense helping lead UCLA to the National Championship. Mater Dei HS 6th year as head coach of the Mater Dei Girls’ Volleyball Program 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 - CIF SS Finalists 2015, 2017, 2018 - CIF SS Champions 2018 State Champions 2017 State Finalists 2014, 2017, 2018 CIF SS Division 1 Coach of the Year. #momentousvbc

We'd like to introduce Tuan Nguyen as the newest member of Momentous's coaching staff. Coach Tuan will be Head Coaching our 16-1's Team and also our 17-2's Team this club season. Coach Tuan Nguyen enters his 24th year of coaching volleyball. During his coaching career, Coach Tuan has built an impressive reputation for his ability to coach, train, and guide his teams to success at the collegiate, club, and high school levels. Coach Tuan's resume includes a decade spent coach...ing at the collegiate level at Biola University (2001-2007) and Concordia University (2008-2010). While an Assistant with the Women's Volleyball Team, Coach Tuan helped the Lady Eagles reach the NAIA Final Four three times. He then went on to serve as an Assistant Coach at Concordia University where he oversaw the team defense as the Concordia Eagles made it all the way to the NAIA Finals in 2008. During his time at Biola and Concordia both programs succeeded in placing at the top of their conference year in and year out, producing a total of ten All-Americans along the way. At the club level, Coach Tuan has coached at the the 18, 17, 16, 15, and 14 & under age groups, enjoying the challenges that each age division presents. As a 17's and 18's coach, he has consistently led his teams to success while helping his players to achieve their goals of playing at the collegiate level. Before joining Momentous, Coach Tuan coached at Laguna Beach Volleyball Club for 20 years; Tuan also serves as the Head Junior Varsity Coach at Santa Margarita High School (2012 - Present). #momentousvbc

We are proud to announce the addition of the following top level female coaches to the Momentous family for the 2020-2021 club season. * Crystal Day-Chitwood - will be assisting 16-Alejandro. Coach Crystal has coached club volleyball for 10 years and been successful as at a number of high school programs (Troy, Santa Margarita, and Mater Dei). Danielle Jefferies - Outside Hitter at Cal State Fullerton; will be assisting Momentous 12-1's - See Bio. It is with sadness that we announce the closure of the American Sports Center (a 242,000 square foot, 34 volleyball court / 25 basketball court facility) in Anaheim. * During these unprecedented times, we just want our entire Momentous family to know that the Momentous Sports Center is in a very strong financial position, is debt-free, has 15 years left on its lease, and is not going anywhere. More than ever before, we remain committed to our Mission Statement, which is "to... provide athletes and families of all ages and skill levels in Southern California the ability to play the sports they love in a positive, safe, indoor environment." * October 1st marks 6 years to the date that we first officially opened our doors to the public, and we look forward to seeing many of you at the Momentous Sports Center for many years to come. * P.S.
