Dear valued client and customer of Natural Healings and myself, I hope this post finds you and your family healthy and well. First I would like to apologize to... all of you for dropping out of contact. Although I suspected it was going to take some time for it to be safe to restart my practice, I really hoped I was wrong. As everyone knows this has been an absolute disastrous pandemic that unfortunately was politicized almost from the beginning. This has allowed the disease to be spread more easily, killing more people and creating economic devastation. It is this politicization that caused me to hesitate in reaching out. The truth is I can no longer be silent as both Judie and I believe in science, facts, evidence and not conspiracy theories. Too many of our friends, family, clients, and acquaintances who are first responders across the country have experienced the devastation of Covid-19 first hand and are exhausted. In fact when I initially sent this as email a friend responded that her father is still in the hospital after three weeks but seems to have turned a corner. To a person (along with our personal doctors that we trust implicitly) they have warned us to continue to shelter in place. As most of you know, Judie has an autoimmune disease but what you most likely don't know is that I also have a minor heart condition. This places both of us in the high risk category. Although Massage Therapy indoors was approved to restart in our county over a month ago, we didn't immediately reopen, (although Judie has continued to practice using Zoom and the phone). This was due to the many earlier false starts which caused a number of our fellow small business owners/colleagues great sums of money. Many will most likely permanently close as a result. Another reason is the exploding pandemic nationwide and across California. Our county numbers have also been increasing. I know a number of you are hurting and are waiting for me to restart but after much deliberation and thought, I won't be until it's truly safe. I'm just not willing to risk anyone's life including and especially any of yours. I'm sure like us you have suffered numerous bouts of cabin fever but trust us - you don't want to experience the alternative. Please protect yourself and your family by taking the CDC guidelines seriously by wearing your mask in public, staying at least 6 - 10' apart, and washing your hands. This will pass and together we will get to the other side of this craziness as I will practice again and Natural Healings will continue to thrive as it has for over 22 years. Happy Holidays! It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Annie Holter passed away sometime yesterday. For those of you who knew her, she was a very kind and generous so...ul who always had a smile on her face, loved to laugh and tease, and share a kind word. She was one of SOLS original founders and a stable at Natural Healings before her fall. For those of you who don't know, she fell about 5 yrs ago, shattering her shoulder. As a result, she suffered brain trauma as well resulting in acute short term memory loss. It was very hard to visit as you would have to constantly repeat yourself because she would within minutes forget what you had just said. Her husband Ernie, who passed a number of years ago, was very much the same. (He loved to pull practical jokes to help people not take themselves too seriously because he definitely didn't.) He was known for being "Mr. Martinez" as he was born and raised here along with the countless hours both he and Annie gave community volunteering, especially for the Historic Society. She will be greatly missed but we know that she's hanging out with the love of her life having a great laugh at whatever shenanigans they are engaged in.
