Hi friends, a very important post today about the big changes happening at Mission Bicycle Company. But first, we would first like to thank you for the years of support. Over the last decade all our efforts were driven by a mission: to help everyone fall in love with cycling and to build the best bikes possible. Living up to that credo has been an incredibly fun journey with countless highlights along the way. We are honored to have shared those moments with each of you. It h...as not been an easy road leading to this decision, but in a nutshell, Mission Bicycle Company is dramatically scaling back our current operations in order to rebuild our business in a way that ensures a bright future for the company. What does that mean? 1 - Our Retail Store at 766 Valencia Street will remain closed to the public. 2 - We are currently unable to accept any new orders for custom bikes, frames, or products. 3 - If you already placed an order with us it WILL be seen through to completion. Our customers have, and will continue to be our first priority. 4 - The best way to reach us is through our email info@ missionbicycle.com We want everyone to know Mission Bicycle Company is not closing its doors for good. While we are pressing pause on new orders, a great deal will continue to happen behind the scenes and we fully intend to emerge on the other side with something awesome. While this may be the end of an era, it is also a new beginning. As some of you may already know, a fire broke out in our workshop in the early hours of Friday morning around 3 am. We are all very thankful that no one was injured during the incident. We would also like to give a huge thank you to the SFFD, as our building is still standing and only relatively minor damage was sustained. Thank you so much for all your support, it means the world to us. We are working hard to rebuild and reopen as soon as possible. ... For any of you who had your bike at the shop for service or awaiting pickup please reach out to us via email [email protected] for updates. While this certainly is a setback it will not keep us from moving forward and building your bikes as soon as we possibly can. Again a sincere thank you for your support and understanding.

Tomorrow is the Supermarket Street Sweep, an annual bike race that benefits the SF-Marin Food Bank! We’re happy to have donated some sweet prizes (along with many other generous shops around the city) for the riders and fundraisers and you can help too! Check out @sfstreetsweep to see just how awesome this race is and sign up to race, donate, volunteer, or simply drop by and watch! It starts at Cupid’s Span at 10:30am Saturday, December 7th. The Supermarket Street Sweep (a...ka "SMSW" or "The Sweep") is an annual bike race that benefits the SF-Marin Food Bank. Since 2005, hundreds of participants have zipped around the city to local supermarkets and brought back thousands of pounds of food to donate to this wonderful charity. To date, Sweepers have raised 87,077 pounds of food and $104,096, which helped the SF-Marin Food Bank provide approximately 330,880 meals to neighbors in need. Amazing, right?! Today is the day! The day when we race up comically steep hills on fixed gear bikes, fueled by adrenaline and Red Bull. It's truly a spectacular show and a uniquely San Francisco event not to be missed.
