Happy #MiracleMonday to this little one and a half year old, Chad! Chad was born on October 21, 2019 at 34 weeks. When Chad was born he was blue and struggling to breath. It wasn’t until day 4 of life that #MiracleMom, Kaleigh, was able to hold her #babyboy for the first time. In total, Chad spent 32 days in the #NICU. Kaleigh had some great #advice for future #NICUparents. She says, Remember that days where baby makes no forward progress aren’t bad. May is Mental Health Awareness Month. A large focus of this time is to remind everyone that, You Are Not Alone, if you, or anyone you know, may be struggling with mental health. We would also like to tie this to maternal mental health and how it is important to care for yourself and get support if you need it, both before and after your baby arrives. We will soon launch a program - My Brain & My Baby, that will provide therapy, support and treatment to any individual experiencing prenatal or postpartum depression and anxiety. One of our #12DaysofGiving winners stopped by our office to receive her gifts. It was a very special moment to hear her story and how she was nominated. Virginia was nominated by a family she was a primary nurse for back in 2017. She made such an impact on their life, caring for their baby for 203 days in the NICU. It is an honor to give back to these NICU providers. They work endless hours and give so much of themselves to their patients. Thank you to all of the NICU providers out there! We are grateful for you!

Happy 1st Birthday to Elena, Evelyn and Ezekiel! The triplets turned 1 on October 14th. The triplets were born at 31 weeks, Ezekiel spent 29 days in the NICU and the girls spent 55 days in the NICU. Miracle Mom Vanessa says of her time in the hospital with her babies, "There’s nothing that can prepare you for the NICU. Delivering my triplets at 31+3 was the hardest thing I’ve been through in my life. I spent 35 days admitted to the hospital prior to having our babies born. S...mall babies weighing 2lbs 12 oz, 3lbs 1 oz & 3lbs 10oz. Bright lights, beeping sounds, babies in incubators, not being able to hold your baby right away, no skin to skin, breastfeeding, privacy, tubes in your babies, teaching your baby to suck, swallow, and breath, no sleep, barely eating a meal, there’s nothing that can prepare you for this. Driving there every day, dropping milk off, staying 8-12 hour days and I still have a toddler at home. Many days and nights of tears and constant praying God keeps my babies healthy." Vanessa is incredibly grateful for the support she has received from Miracle Babies over the past year. We are thrilled to share the triplets are thriving!
