Please stop for a sec and give yourself some love. Take some time to really think about all that you are pulling off and give yourself a hi-5 or some form of acknowledgement for what you’ve done this week. You deserve it Maybe you signed a new client... Maybe you launched a new business Maybe you kept your promise to yourself to go for a walk Maybe you balanced being a mom and a school teacher (seriously, how are y’all doing this) Maybe you brushed your hair and put on real pants Whatever you did, Congrats Way to keep going despite the swirl. Don’t forget the part where you rest and let your soul feel at ease This last two weeks I’ve done my best to shut off all the distractions that I possibly could. I turned off all of the shoulds and did the things that are priority and I let all the other things fall to the side. I put down all of the books and classes and just got still and in that stillness I’ve gotten real clarity on where I’m going next with my life and business. As it turns out , turning the volume down on everything means you have room to hear your own thoughts. Let’s make sure that we make room to hear our heart and soul. Let’s make sure our dreams aren’t being drowned out by all of the noise around us. Get still. Get clear. Then you can move again.

You have your own intuition for a reason. You have a brain. You have ideas JUST LIKE THEM. They are taking that idea and creating it, building it and testing it. They know there’s a risk of failing and they do it anyway. They most likely are so busy implementing their ideas that they have little time to be picking up someone else’s dream on Instagram/Facebook and letting it take them down someone else’s path or paralyzing them. Let’s be clear the thing that you really admire... about them is that they are actually doing it. Use your own internal guide not someone else’s. Do it your way. Hide them, unfollow or whatever you have to do to get your eyes back on your own paper. Get still and observant to YOUR calling.

Taking the first step or the next step in your journey to create your dream can feel scary, do it anyway. Fear is good for us it’s there to protect us and keep us safe but please know that if we use fear as our gauge for what we will do in our lives we’d never make another friend, create something that we are compelled to create or step out of our comfort zone and lift others up. Can you say Thank you fear,I’ve got this. I’m not jumping off a cliff, I’m just creating somethi...ng cool.No worries? Can you be scared and do it anyway?

Just want to say a big huge gigantic thank you for every single person that took the time to vote for @voicesofourcitychoir on #AGT. We will find out of we made it to the finals today LIVE on the results show tonight on NBC. I hope you take a couple of minutes to watch this and see the choir. I ugly cried. I’m not sure I can put into words what it feels like to see our choir members on this stage, they feel like family members to me. I know and have seen some of their struggl...es and seeing them on a stage doing this just is so incredibly powerful. Every day is a new day to start fresh.It doesn’t matter what the past was you can create a future for yourself that you want. Sometimes my clients ask me how are you so sure that I could make my dream possible and it’s because of moments like this. I’ve worked with and on enough projects and organizations now that I know how possible it is for big crazy huge out of this world more than you could ever imagine magical stuff happens. You have to be willing to honor your calling and show up for it when it’s scary or confusing and have the willingness to allow it to grow. That means no overnight success stuff. That means not pointing at your dream and saying make me money and then I will take you serious. Show up for your calling and your dream. Just show up for it.
