Mendon's Nursery

It has been two months since we began our clearance sale. The response from all of you to help our remaining inventory find a place to belong has been overwhelming. We are down to just a handful of plants and other odds and ends, so we have come to our final three days; Thursday thru Saturday, May 16-18, 8:30-5:00. If you have tagged items for pick up later, have questions about gardening or landscaping, or just want to say hi, our phone will still be in service for awhile. M...any of you have inquired about tables, equipment, fixtures, greenhouses, carts, etc. that might be for sale. And we have taken names and phone numbers. As of yet, we have not parted with these items, needing some right up to the end to function. We will soon be calling names on the list in order of when you inquired to see if you are still interested. We probably could have ended our sale and closed up sooner, but it's difficult to let go of something that you love, something that has been a big part of your life for so long, so many truly wonderful people - employees, customers, sales people and more - who have made all the years a huge collection of precious memories. So even though what once was is no longer, what once was will not be forgotten. A special tribute to my father and mother, Jerry and Joanne Mendon, who started it all way back when. They were the creators who put in endless hours to get it up and running; they were the driving force to see it grow and grow; they were the example to me and so many others who have worked at the nursery to do our best to give the best to our customers. Thank you mom and dad. A special tribute to my wife, Sheri, and all of my children, who have supported me and missed me during those long busy seasons for so many years. It has been a special opportunity to have had all of you work at the nursery, whether it was for a few months or for a few years. There are definitely memories there that will be talked about and cherished for years to come. Thank you so much. There is a saying that goes something like this: If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life. Well, I would be lying if I said that I never "worked" a day in my life. There were times when I didn't love what I did. And I would be lying if I said it wasn't work. But one thing I can honestly say: I would be hard pressed to think of something that I could have done for so many years that would have brought me as much satisfaction and pleasure as this did. Sorry for the inconvenience, but the nursery will be closed from April 17 thru April 24. We will re-open April 25 for a short time. Our clearance sale is going well, and so we don’t have much left to sell. Thank you all for making our sale a success. Please call after the 24th with any questions.
