New Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon Set To Turn On Next Week: The City’s new traffic control device known as a Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB) installed at the crosswa...lk of Triunfo Canyon Road and Saddle Mountain Drive will be powered on during the Week of January 24, 2022. While similar in some ways to other flashing warning lights already installed throughout the City, there are unique characteristics about this new PHB and how it operates. Be sure to watch the short video on how the PHB works and what both pedestrians and motorists should expect once the PHB is operational next week. Visit https://vimeo.com/636675302 for the full video. If you have any questions about the PHB, please don’t hesitate to contact City Hall at (818) 706-1613.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’ Through those words, Dr. King wanted to... remind us all the importance of serving others and the value that comes from helping another person. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department prides itself of serving the residents of the County of Los Angeles. Our deputies and personnel know the importance of helping others and understand that others come before them. Today, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who was a social activist and a pioneer in the American Civil Rights Movement. Dr. King, through his actions, brought a level of greatness and courage in the face of tremendous adversity. His work, his vision and perseverance for equality continues to inspire all of us today. We wish all the residents of the County of Los Angeles a safe holiday. #MartinLutherKingDay #MLK #MLKDay

Our LASD Lost Hills Family are deeply saddened to report the untimely death of Deputy Michael Treinen. Deputy Treinen faithfully served the citizens of Los Angeles County for over 30 years, spending the majority of that time assigned to Lost Hills Station. Deputy Treinen trained many of our now seasoned deputies that continue to patrol our jurisdiction. He finished his service at Lost Hills Station as the homeless liaison for the City of Malibu and a training officer for our reserve deputies before retiring last year. Deputy Treinen was beloved by his community and by those who worked alongside him. Rest in Peace Mike, your service, humility and quiet strength will never be forgotten. #thankyouforyourservice @thelocalmalibu @malibudailynews @acornnewspaper @TheMalibuTimes @991KBU

Tortured by his own mother and her boyfriend for several years, 8 year old Gabriel Fernandez’s little body couldn’t take it anymore and in 2013 he died of his i...njuries. Today Gabriel would’ve turned 16 years old. The prosecutor who put his killers behind bars (DDA Jonathan Hatami ) and Sheriff Villanueva visited with Gabriel’s aunt, Mrs. Barron, to celebrate his short life. It pains us @lasdhq that Gabriel had to endure unspeakable pain in his 8 years on this earth. Please help us in law enforcement to be our eyes & ears so we can all continually grow stronger in our mission to protect our children from abuse at home, especially right now while the pandemic has forced children to stay home around the clock. Remember you can report any crime ANONYMOUSLY at 1-800-Crimestoppers! Rest In Peace sweet Gabriel...you are not forgotten. #LASD #gabrielfernandez

When the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve tomorrow night, many people think of champagne toasts, balloon drops, and kissing their loved ones to celebrat...e. Unfortunately, for our deputies, it is one of the busiest nights of the year for illegal celebratory gunfire. Lancaster Sheriff's Station takes this time to remind you "What goes up, must come down!" Bullets shot up in the air do not just disappear. They must land somewhere and could potentially take someone's life. Remember to be a respectful neighbor and not set off fireworks as well, as this frightens the elderly, Veterans and pets. And finally, if you do meet up with family or friends, please don't drink and drive. There are so many options for getting home safely, it's not worth the risk. Celebrate responsibly and let's all ring in 2021 safely! #LASD #AV411 #NYEsafety #goodbye2020 #hello2021

As temps drop, please know heating is the 2nd leading cause of house fires & in most cases involves space heaters. Don’t plug a space heater into a power strip. Space heaters must be plugged directly into a wall outlet & should be the only item plugged into that wall outlet.

A parent’s worst nightmare is when something terribly wrong is happening to your baby. Today #LASD Norwalk Sheriff's Station Deputies responded to a Whittier ho...me regarding a 911 call for a 4 month old baby girl, who was not breathing. Deputies arrived to the home in seconds and immediately performed CPR on the unresponsive baby. They were able to successfully get the baby girl to take several small breathes on her own. Within minutes deputies escorted the baby to a local hospital via ambulance. We are happy to share that baby Alaiah is in stable condition at the hospital and being taken care of by her mom. Did you know.....when emergency vehicles are approaching with active lights and siren, the law requires that all other vehicles safely drive towards the right-h...and edge/curb of the street or highway, and remain stopped there until the authorized emergency vehicle has passed. Failure to do so could result in a citation. #PSA #WorkingTogether

Good morning and happy Tuesday! As you go about your day always remember to lock your vehicle, never leave valuables in the vehicle, make sure purses, backpacks or packages are not visible, don’t hide your key near or around your car or leave the key fob in the vehicle. Vehicle burglaries are still happening too often. Let’s work together to make today and every day a safe one.
