To Our Members and Our Families: Marriage isn’t easy. Throw in the complications of the fire life and sometimes it can seem impossible. It is no surprise that firefighters have a higher than average divorce rate. Multiple days away from home, stressful calls, sleepless nights, interrupted communication, managing issues at home while spouses are away the list could go on. A functioning, long-term marriage in the fire service is uncommon, but not impossible. To have and ma...intain a good marriage takes work. This seminar will discuss the issues related to a fire service life that can pull a relationship apart. It will also give couples tools to help navigate difficult situations. The Fire Marriages Seminar will be held on November 12th from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. The panel will consist of current and retired fire personnel, peer support team members and UFLAC Behavioral Health professionals Dr. Steve Froehlich, Vera Rodriguez, Nancy Mraz and Dr. Sami Tamburro. WEBINAR DETAILS: DATE: THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2020 TIME: 7:00 PM 8:30 PM Please follow the link to sign up. https://register.gotowebinar.com/regist/1581017867038660107

We are deeply saddened to announce the tragic death of one of our own. Maria Davis, wife of Greg Davis from Fire Station 25 "A" suffered a traumatic brain injury while jumping into her pool and she was not able to recover from her injuries. After a week of fighting for her life, the family and her medical team decided it was time to let Maria go peacefully, and on Saturday, September 26th she was taken off of life support. A Go Fund Me has been set up by the Davis famil...y to assist with funeral expenses and to assist the family. #LAFD https://www.gofundme.com/f/maria-davis-funeral-expenses
