A huge thank you again to Leary Firefighters Foundation. By donating your helping this foundation support fire departments like ours getting the tools needed to make their communities safer.
Mountain View Fire Protection District is excited to announce that through the incredible generosity of the Leary Firefighters Foundation, we have received a grant for the purchase of a Bear Training Solutions Forcible Entry Simulator. This training prop will enable our firefighters to train on techniques used to force-open locked and secured doors in the event of an emergency. The construction of the door allows us to train on all types of door construction with quick resets... using low cost and easily obtainable materials, without the need to leave the station or district. The Leary Firefighters Foundation was established in 2000 by actor Denis Leary in response to a tragic fire in Worcester, Massachusetts that claimed the lives of Denis’ cousin, a childhood friend, and four other firefighters. The Leary Firefighters Foundation’s mission is to provide funding and resources for Fire Departments to obtain the best available equipment, technology and training. We are dedicated to helping maintain the highest level of public safety in our communities. The Leary Firefighters Foundation continues to assist firefighters by awarding grants for training, equipment, and new technology. These grants help firefighters in unimaginable ways. Please check out their website at www.learyfirefighters.org to learn more or make a donation so they can continue to help our fellow firefighters. Thank You Leary Firefighters Foundation
Today Mt. View Fire Captains Clay Hoobler and Dario Machado continued the tradition of escorting Santa Claus to the Chatom Elementary Breakfast with Santa.
Last night Mountain View’s Station 1 was broken into. We are still taking inventory of all that was stolen, they took our Vehicle extrication equipment(Jaws of life) and Rescue Saw off of our engine. Please be on the lookout for our equipment. Everything is labeled property of Mountain View Fire.
