How good are you at delaying gratification? To achieve the color of gray transformation (which is really a color correction) takes time and consistent hair care, hair repair, and patience. Siri has naturally strong, black hair but was regularly putting black color on her hair to hide incoming grays. She also had a smoothing treatment about a year ago in Thailand. This was important to know in our consultation.... It is CRITICAL that you tell your stylist EVERYTHING that you have done to your hair. Since we couldn’t determine exactly what chemicals were in the smoothing treatment, we did a strand test before our first appointment to determine if her hair could handle lightening. She had a very reasonable goal for her first appointment- a gray/blue ombré. Siri also came in right before the CA December shutdown for another toner & we set an appointment several months out for another lightening session. The first appointment took 5 hours and the 2nd appointment took 4 hours. At both appointments I used Olaplex and she took home Olaplex home-maintenance products as well. Most hair colors ARE achievable- if you have the persistence, patience, and a top-notch hair products for at home maintenance.

Can I brush my hair when it’s wet? Do you have straight hair? Yes. Do you have wavy or curly hair? No.... If you hair is straight, brushing your hair with a Wet(c) brush is the best choice. Even after doing teasy-lights or ombré I will use a Wet brush to brush wet hair. It is also a great choice when you want to evenly distribute Olaplex or a hydrating masque into your straight hair. What makes the Wet brush special? Um. I’m not sure. But, it is gentle & very effective if you start at the ends and work your way up to your scalp when brushing. Need a Wet brush? What to expect from me at your haircut: Especially at our very first appointment I will ask you a BUNCH of questions to help me determine the best haircut & style for you. How many times a week do you wash your hair? Do you air dry, blow dry or both? ... What products, if any, do you use? What do you love about your hair now? What do you want to change? What do you do for work? Do you exercise or swim? This is just a sample f the many questions I ask to help the two of us determine the best style and upkeep for you! Cold weather hair care! The colder outside temps don’t really affect your hair, but the dry indoor heat & static electricity can make us all feel parched! Winter is a great time to add to (or start!) some self-care by doing a twice monthly hair masque. Keep your hair & scalp moisturized will keep your color fresh and help keep spilt ends at bay. What is Purple Shampoo & do I need it? Purple or violet tinted shampoo helps to counteract the warming effect or brassiness of hair whose toner has faded out. Toners, regardless of hue, will fade due to their light chemical makeup & sometimes due to the porosity of your hair. Blondes can be refreshed and kept cooler with violet shampoos & conditioners. At your next appointment I can CUSTOM DESIGN a violet shampoo to keep your hair merry & bright in between cut & tonin...g appointments!
