The events of the last week are scary on all sides, especially for children. Many Black children have lost their fathers to violence at the hands of those who are supposed to protect and serve. We know how important fathers are in the lives of their children...What are these children to do about a father who will love and nurture them to adulthood. Well, it is time for surrogate fathers, uncles, brothers, cousins who are males to step up to help those children in your family ...who have lost their fathers to make sense of the world and to help them grow up to become healthy, responsible and strong males. Proud to be Black in America! It is also time for those young boys and girls to receive counseling to help them resolve the natural response of anger, hurt, dismay, fear and doubt about their own futures. The Lighthouse of Hope Counseling Center is available to help, to be empathetic and supportive of families who are hurt so deeply. or who are indirectly affected by the tragedies our lives.. For those who are angry and don;t know how to manage that anger, we have an anger management group to help you focus and learn appropriate ways to express your anger and not take the risk of lashing out and hurting the ones you love even more!...
