On behalf of the Board and everyone at PIQE we want to thank Mrs. Patricia Mayer for her 33 years of dedication and service to families, students and communities! As Vice President of Program Development, Mrs. Patricia Mayer was responsible for monitoring the overall quality of PIQE’s programs at each of the 9 regional offices in California. She lead a team of PIQE Professional Development Trainers and Curriculum Writers. Having worked at PIQE for the past 33 years, she coll...aborated with PIQE co-founder Dr. Alberto Ochoa in the design of PIQE’s signature program curriculum. She has overseen the development of all PIQE programs and has been instrumental in expanding PIQE’s Parent Engagement Program across the nation and internationally through the Best Practices Licensing Agreements! We are so grateful to have had Mrs. Patricia Mayer for 33 years and we wish her a happy retirement! At the October 19 Board of Education meeting, our Board Trustees took an important step forward in the effort to safely reopen our elementary schools to welcome... back our preschool and TK-6 grade students. Trustees approved the Waiver Application, and District staff submitted the application to the Stanislaus County Health Services Agency and County Office of Education for review and approval. While Stanislaus County is currently only permitted to look at reopening elementary schools using the waiver process, we have begun discussing the safe reopening of our junior high and high school sites, but we are not yet to the point where we are able to do so. But, for our junior high and high school families, much of the information regarding the reopening of elementary schools will also apply to junior high and high schools. It would be impossible to include all the reopening details in this post. All health and safety protocols, including mask requirements (all students and staff are required to wear a mask), are included in the Waiver Application and Reopening Plan on the District website: https://www.mcs4kids.com//2020-2021-School-Year-Info/TK-6- Key details on reopening dates and what learning will look like are included in the graphic. It is important to note that we are actively working with our labor partners to reach agreements on a number of items.
