Repost 5/29/18: It’s hard for people to understand exactly what we are trying to do here. So I’ll try to explain. Independent bookstores are fading away. The idea of strangers coming in to share their appreciation for art, the written word or simply share a sincere thought or feeling in a conversation is also fading away, faster & faster...& faster. Now social media further interrupts truth and one day soon, maybe too soon, it will take away more of our human truths than we ...expected. In an effort to counter the dumbing down of our society we are here to share art, knowledge, intellectual power, wisdom and truth within the books we shelve & with a line up of interesting and inspiring events on our summer calendar . We’ll have about three regular events a week, and at least one special event every month. Established guest artists, touring musicians, up & coming authors, poets, cinema, art shows, lectures/interviews from world-renowned intellectuals, unique minds & activists reinventing change, and more unique guests. To support this we’re expanding our space to offer a larger venue, a full service coffeehouse, a deeper collection of contemporary, classic, obscure & challenging literature, art, philosophy, history & a full time gallery. It’s a challenge, but one worth pursuing. It’s taken some time, but we’re still here.
