We would like to dedicate this dance to our members who have passed away this past year, especially Angele Goyeneche and Jean Acheritogaray. Although not from San Francisco, we would also like to honor Isidore Camou.
Although we can't offer you a rack of lamb lunch today at our Basque picnic, we are sharing with you some dances for your enjoyment
Eskerrik asko to the New England Basque Club for hosting a wonderful picnic!
A little from both the performances and our off time. We have all become appreciative of art. Not only is it beautiful, but it is the closest museum and has air conditioning!

Arnegi / barkoxe in SF - day 1: learning by personal experiences that the hills in the movies really do exist
Yesterday the group went rope climbing, and finished with a bonfire in the mountains with the families. Today we went to see the pastorale "Petti Buhame" in Garindaine. A little warm in the sun, but over 3000 people attending.
Just a few teaser photos from the show in Barkotxe. It was well attended - over 600 people - and a huge success. The dancers did a beautiful job!
Final rehearsal before the show. Friday: a calm day of marathon mud before getting ready this evening.
Poster for the show Bagoaz. First performance will be tomorrow in barkotxe. Second performance will be in arnegi.
Visit to the suspension bridge at holzarte, cheese made in the mountains, and a hike to the lakes
The first days of our exchange ... Arriving in Barcus, practice, and visiting an espadrille factory in mauleon where they are the fourth generation making espadrilles by hand. (Trivia of the day: did you know espartinak were named after the fiber (espart) used to make the soles?)
The 2014 Gazteak group. Great job guys!
