At just 20 years of age, Fire Fighter Medina passed away while on duty and working his first shift on April 17, 2021. The St. Marys Fire Department shared that Fire Fighter Medina was known for his long time passion for firefighting and love of the fire service.... Today, the #LACoFD will join with the Los Angeles Fire Department, along with other fire departments and our law enforcement family, in a procession as Fire Fighter Medina is returned home to California for burial. As of April 1, 2021 Division VI welcomes Acting Assistant Fire Chief Rob Harris. Acting Assistant Fire Chief Robert Harris is a 29-year member of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. He has been a Battalion Chief in Division VI, Battalion 20 and responsible for managing the fire department’s response to large scale disasters. Over the past four-and-a-half years Robert also served as the Program Manager of California Task Force 2 (CA-TF2), having the honor of responding to disasters within the United States as well as around the world as part of the international team, USA-2.

Luckily Field Deputy Ron Fisher from MRT’s office was there to capture the rescue.

KNOWING SIGNS OF A STROKE CAN SAVE A LIFE Dorothy Farris recently dropped by to thank Squad 2’s Fire Fighter Paramedics Brian Griffiths and Chris Frohoff who he...lped her after she had a stroke. In late July, Ms. Farris was on a Zoom call with friends when one of them noticed signs of a stroke and called 9-1-1. Engine 2 and Squad 2 quickly arrived at Ms. Farris’ home. They transported her to a nearby hospital where she received treatment and has since made a full recovery. We are grateful she is now healthy and well!
