This is a rare look at a response to a structure fire in our City from the perspective of the dash cams of our apparatus and helmet cam from the Captain on the incident. It takes countless hours of training, the highest quality equipment, and the collaboration of many agencies to manage fires, medical aids, and rescues. #weexistforyou

At 11:17am this morning, our agency, along with multiple neighboring agencies responded to a structure fire on the 2nd story of an apartment complex on Pine Ave near Stateline. 6 people were rescued from the 2nd story, one person escaped on his own from the 1st story, and tragically, another person was pulled from the 1st story and despite CPR rescue efforts by Cal Tahoe EMS Paramedics, that person succumbed to his injuries. Fire Chief Clive Savacool said, "Although 1 res...ident succumbed to his injuries, the quick response and hard work from our City police officers, and all the firefighters from our neighboring agencies, 6 people are alive and well. This fire could have been much worse." The fire was quickly put out and contained to 1 apartment, but there was heavy smoke damage throughout the building.

Truck2, Eng1 and Bat3 responded to Lake Tahoe Blvd. and Rufus Allen Blvd. for a TC. When we arrived we found a single vehicle on it side teetering on the edge with the lake below. The vehicle was stabilized and the driver was safely removed and had no injuries. Great team effort tonight.
