Korean has its own script called Hangul. King Sejong the Great invented Hangul in the 15th century. The king created the Hangul script to encourage literacy amongst his subjects. Hangul was designed specifically for Korean, and it was also created to be easy to learn and use. Hangul is an alphabet, with each symbol corresponding to a sound. They are 14 consonants and 10 vowels. Letters are grouped together into syllable blocks. To quote Wikipedia, Numerous linguists have praised Hangul for its feature design, describing it as remarkable, the most perfect phonetic system devised, and brilliant, so deliberately does it fit the language like a glove. In Hangul, the shape of the letters mimics what your tongue is doing when you pronounce them.

The nine-day program in Korea is designed to increase American educators’ understanding and appreciation of the rich Korean history and culture, social and economic development of the Korean society, and the Korean educational system. Typically, the program takes place in two cities, including the capital city of Seoul. It includes city tours, visits to at least one Korean high school, traditional Korean music and dance performance, a traditional Korean village or a museum, Buddhist temples and royal palaces, an industrial site, and the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), as well as free time for personal business.

07.03.2019 07.16.2019 This 14-day summer program in Korea is for selected 20 outstanding middle and high school students who are currently enrolled in Korean language classes. The program offers participants many opportunities to experience and spend quality time with Korean families. The selected students would be responsible for airfare, and the rest is sponsored by the Foundation.

2019.6.15 (Sat) ~7.27 (Sat): Every Saturday for 7 weeks The Foundation offers high school students a free 7-week class for SAT Korean II Test preparation in June and July. Using the Foundation’s SAT Korean II Test Preparation book, the class is designed to help students become familiar with the test and maximize their SAT Korean II test scores through lectures and practice tests. The class meets on Saturdays for three hours in four locations - Los Angeles, Orange County, inc...luding San Fernando Valley. Each class has a maximum of 40 students and is taught by experienced Korean language teachers from several high schools. Since 1996, the foundation has put a great effort into establishing Korean language classes in America.
