As it turns out, the sailor in the iconic photo died on Feb. 17th. To many, the photo was the most iconic image of the 20th Century! Our condolences to the sailer's family. Fun fact....The sailer was standing next to his fiance' but first turned to the nurse, and let me tell you, he planted that kiss on her. I'm sure he kissed his fiance' next.
