My Creek Fire Disaster Recovery Toolkit is now live on my website. Almost 200 pages of recovery steps, financial tips, insurance/disaster loan procedures, tax relief options, and more. Also listed at the end of the kit are 6 pages of local & national recovery resources, along with sources for replacing important documents. Feel free to share to all you know who have been affected by the Creek Fire, and even from the other fires in California. Though the resource pages are somewhat specific to Fresno/Madera counties, other counties in California will have similar local resources. www.kdhollandsolutions.com

As a financial educator, I find Bullard's response accurate and responsible. I have been checking (and rechecking) with all of my stock market/investment/employment sources regarding the state our economy was in before the pandemic, and they all agree: the foundation of our economic base was solid. VERY solid. If we look at the economic shutdown not as a recession or possible depression in the making, but as Bullard says, "An investment in the public heath that lays the groun...dwork for a rapid rebound" we will bounce back economically much more quickly. (For instance, a stock market-savvy friend of mine says that a 4,000plus point gain in the Dow is not an impossible event). "The recent jump in unemployment claims? That's a win, a sign that so-called government stabilizers are being used. The hope should be that such programs get "crazy heavy use" in coming weeks, he said. If economic output falls by half in the second quarter, that's a win - not a record-setting defeat. It means businesses have heeded orders to close and customers to stay home. "We are not trying to move production and income up in the second quarter. We are trying to keep it out of the second quarter," Bullard said. "You want capital to just sit in place. Switch off the factory ... Then switch it back on." Whether you are a fiscal conservative or advocate for government spending, he also makes some salient points about the necessary government response to make this recovery quicker: match dollar for dollar what is being lost in short-term zero interest loans, unemployment claims & insurance, etc. If you agree with this, begin to call your representatives and senators, and spur our governmental leadership to "prime the pump" for a tremendous economic rebound.

There are a few spots open for this fall's Building Independence course, so it's time for a special incentive! If you refer a friend, and you both enroll your student, I'll give each parent/family a "referral discount" of $10 off per semester. That's a savings of $20 per family....what a great way to start a financial literacy class ! Call (559-970-4526), text or email ([email protected]) with questions, or to enroll your student!

Announcing a price reduction for my Fall 2019 Building Independence 28 week course! Material and rental costs have gone down, so I'm passing the savings on to you! Financial Literacy is now the new "buzz word" in politics and education circles. I developed my Building Independence course years ago, however, when I saw the skyrocketing student loan debt and plunging savings rates for the "thirtysomethings" I knew. This comprehensive financial and life skills course is designed... to help homeschooled, public or private schooled students face "adulthood" with a full set of financial tools. The Fall 2019 class is enrolling NOW. Don't let your student "miss out" on information and skills that will last his/her a lifetime! Call, email or text with questions to enroll your student.
