We live in an extraordinarily beautiful place. This morning near Battery Alexander looking down on Bird Island. Those little black specks on top represent what were likely a big sunning of cormorants. Another collective noun for them is gulp but sunning is also a valid option and fits their activity just then. I felt pretty wretched yesterday after 2nd vaccination so extra grateful to have some energy to get outside today. #urbansketchers #naturejournal #marinheadlands #batteryalexander #cormorants

15-minute sketch in the Terra Linda High School gym (serving as a Kaiser vaccination site) this morning after my second Fauci ouchie. One smart woman was circling her arm around to reduce injection area side effects and bit by bit, soon we all were copying her. Otherwise people were looking at their phones and occasionally chatting up one of the nurses who wakes around checking on us. This beautiful handmade ceramic bowl arrived to me today, made by amazing friend Gina. Just lovely and I feel her good vibes in it! Daisies can symbolize innocence and new beginnings, which resonates deeply with me especially with this friend and both of our journeys. Sausalito scene from Saturday, now with color. Sky more properly reflects the cloudy day.

First sketch in a long time, not sure what has been up. Sometimes we just need to let things rest. It felt nice to carve out the time (why do I invent so much unnecessary rushing?) and draw this from my car today in Sausalito after taking Dottie for a nice long walk. Will likely add watercolor later during Giants game. Mellow quiet cloudy day, just my speed. One annoying truck disturbing the peace a couple times with a speaker blaring music that you might hear from an ice cream truck and a human dressed as an Easter Bunny in the truck bed waving at everyone, a one vehicle parade I guess? Anyhow, peace prevailed, clouds rolled in, paddle boarders glided along and gulls wheeled about in the sky. #urbansketchers #sausalito #micronpens #sabado

Morning walk. Imagining a mom in a few years explaining to her young child why there are big dots painted six feet apart on the sidewalk near the school. In pandemic times.... Beautiful things budding as if it is spring. Some warmth and hope.

Ring Mountain views- some scrumptiously gorgeous lichen too. Dottie and I met some lovely humans and well-behaved doggies. Nice!
