Other than adjusting to life back in the United States, these were some of my many 2018 highlights: 1. Attended trainings about the body, healing, prayer, coaching, and movement including using yoga and art to empower marginalized teens and functional range conditioning 2. Reconnected with my ultimate yoga teacher (Yoga Inside Out), exploring functional movement fused with yoga 3. Started teaching yoga in the juvenile justice system with #theartofyogaproject - such a humbling... and eye opening experience 4. Joined the Teen Success, Inc. team to contribute towards supporting the empowerment of high school aged moms to reach their fullest potential 5. *dreamy-eyed* sent by work (thanks Teen Success, Inc.) to hear and learn from my modern day social justice hero, Bryan Stevenson, speak 6. Taught Christian yoga classes inspired and led by the Holy Spirit and prayer - what an honor to partner with Jesus 7. Led a yin yoga workshop themed on one of the precepts I live by: thankfulness 8. Taught over 166 hours of yoga at 3 different studios - always a privilege to teach and learn from my students 9. Gratitude challenge day 14: Routine ... Always a student and coming back to a movement routine to explore my body’s needs and what it means to be strong. My own athletic journey has evolved over the years to the point that I can listen to my body a bit better and be more intentional about it’s needs and each day hopefully become more in tune.
