Lake Almanor Area Chamber Announces a New Year's Eve Fireworks Show The Lake Almanor Area Chamber is pleased to announce the plans and approval for a New Year's... Eve Fireworks Show. The show will take place at 9:00 pm, December 31, 2020, over Rogers Field (Chester Airport). This location allows for maximum viewing while accommodating social distancing needs. Let's say goodbye to a difficult year, and celebrate the coming of a new and better one! And do it with a bang! We are raising additional funds for this show. Our goal is $5000. Please help us make it a good one. Drop off a donation at B & B Booksellers 278 Main Street, or mail it to to the Lake Almanor Chamber, P.O. Box 1198, Chester 96020. Hi Everyone, We are getting a lot of questions regarding the Fireworks and are attempting to address them all. 1) Time - We said midnight because that is typical of a new year's celebration however we are not sure if the 10:00pm order will still be in effect or not. If the order is still in effect we will be required to adjust the time. The board will vote this wednesday on an alternative time. 2) Funding - We are not planning to take funding away from the Fourth of July fireworks show, which is why we are still needing to fundraise a minimum of 5,000.00 for this show. The more we are able to raise the longer show we can put on. 3) Best locations to watch from - We are hoping that the airport provides ample viewing opportunities for most of town, as this will be out first year hosting fireworks at the airport we are not sure what the best locations will be.
