Good news! Governor Brown signed Assembly Bill 635 into law this week. The bill establishes a pilot program and studies the need for interpretation services to move us closer to state-funded medical interpreters for Medi-Cal patients with limited English proficiency. This is a tremendous victory and a recognition of the work you do every day. It comes after over six years of hard work by YOU with Interpreting for California.

Friday, September 12th, please call Governor Brown to tell him you support interpreters in Medi-Cal. Call Governor Brown’s office at (916)445-2841 ... Here’s what to Say: Hi, my name is __________________, and I live in _____. I am calling to request Governor Brown’s signature on Assembly Bill 2325 for medical interpreters. Thank you." Thank you for your help. We need to show Governor Brown that our state needs language access now!
