Please donate this #givingtuesday2020! Thank you to all of you who have already donated to the Conor Lynch Foundation! We’ve been pushing for contributions since the third week of October which marks #NationalTeenDriverSafetyWeek. Since October we have been able to show Conors’s official tribute story numerous times. And with your donations, we are translating his movie into Spanish and hopefully other languages as well! Thank you for helping us spread the message about t...he dangers of distracted driving even wider! We are also working with members of SoCal Families for Safe Streets and aim to help them create their own video stories about traffic violence including the dangers of distracted driving, reckless driving, speeding and speed racing! Please consider contributing any amount this #givingtuesday2020! We are so appreciative of your help. And please don’t drive intexticated this Holiday Season! ++ = https://www.facebook.com/donate/415689476135601/?fundraiser_source=external_url https://youtu.be/aghHS1lC4rw

The red car was at a complete stop behind a bus stopped at a train crossing. The blue Jeep was texting and driving. The driver of the red car is okay, shockingl...y, and luckily he was alone because a passenger likely would not have survived. Please don’t text and drive. You are not special. You are not better at it than everybody else. You are distracted. Get over yourself. Think about other people and get off your damn phone while driving. See more

Another story of how our City's largest public space, our streets, suddenly and with such violence takes away an Angeleno's life EVERY 36 HOURS. And this could have been preventable with smarter street design, stronger penalties against hit-and-runs, and DUI prevention. "Paolina Bartalucci said she hoped that the fatal crash would lead to changes that would make the street a safer place to walk.... 'I was just telling my friend that there should be a stop light, or something placed here a stop sign? to kind of deter people from speeding,' she said."

This is a GREAT article about teens and the return to driving during the pandemic. It was written by Nicholas Worrell, a longtime friend and Chief at the Office of Safety Advocacy at the National Transportation Safety Board in DC. Please share with your teens. It could save a life: It’s been said that insisting on one’s rights without accepting one’s responsibilities is not freedom but adolescence. As somebody who works in youth safety outreach, I assure you, that’s an insu...lt to today’s adolescents, who have used their voices and actions to demonstrate that they understand the role of conscience, mindfulness, and selfless service. I have no doubt this resilient groupmany of whom gave up rites of passage, like prom and in-person graduation, to self-quarantine and protect those around themcan come back to the driving task with a renewed understanding of their profound responsibilities behind the wheel.
