Another story of how our City's largest public space, our streets, suddenly and with such violence takes away an Angeleno's life EVERY 36 HOURS. And this could have been preventable with smarter street design, stronger penalties against hit-and-runs, and DUI prevention. "Paolina Bartalucci said she hoped that the fatal crash would lead to changes that would make the street a safer place to walk.... 'I was just telling my friend that there should be a stop light, or something placed here a stop sign? to kind of deter people from speeding,' she said."

10th Annual STOP For NIkhil Kickoff Ceremony. The event is held to remember and honor those who have been killed or seriusly injured in traffic crashes. Nikhil was an 11-year-old boy who was killed in a car crash when a driver ran through a STOP sign.
