Brothers and Sisters, Dues will be paid at the full rate if you work 50% or more of the month. For members that work less than 50% of the month, are on layoff, furlough, FMLA, or on disability their dues will be five dollars. In order for members to pay their five dollars or dues they can either send a check which is not the preferred way or more Dues check off. The preferred way is to go to the Local’s website and pay online. That website is iamlocal1101.org. Members also ...need to reach out to the clerical staff to let them know that they’re out of work. Ali can be emailed at [email protected]. The clerical staff or Business Representative are being required to verify with the employers the exact days and hours each person has worked or not worked for the month. See more

Safeway has a pickup service that seems to be a better deal than Instacart. With Safeway, you order online or through the app & the service fee is $3.95 or $4.95, depending on location for pickup. Minimum order of $30. You don't have to pay a delivery fee & you don't tip. The employee loads your groceries in your vehicle (pop your trunk for minimal contact). You still can get the sale prices, especially if you have your phone number savings card linked to your account. ...I don't know about the delivery fees. Gaspar has experience with the pickup services. If anyone has experiences to share or advice, please share with the group. Thanks! Safeway is Union. For pickup see: https://www.safeway.com/shop/lp/grocery-pickup.html For delivery see: https://www.safeway.com/shop/lp/delivery-by-safeway.html

Tax dead line extended Federal tax filing deadlines have been extended for 3 months until July 15, but not all State tax deadlines have been extended for as long. California State taxes have been extended until July 15 as well. The Treasury Secretary is advising people to file as soon as possible if you're expecting a refund to get your money sooner, but additionally to prevent scammers from filing fraudulently under your name hoping to get your refund. If you for some reas...on fall under the scenario of owing quarterly taxes, those have been extended until July 15 also for the first quarter but the second quarter deadline remains June 15. Property taxes are still due at their normal dates. (normally different than Federal/State taxes). https://www.huffpost.com//state-tax-deadlines-by-state_l_5

Governor Newsom passed a statewide moratorium on Friday to prevent evictions related to wage loss during the pandemic but it doesn't protect everyone in the way that you imagine. It only delays the window that the tenant has to respond to an eviction & you will eventually have to pay the back rent. New evictions can still be filed & a specific type of eviction (Owner Move In) can still be enforced. Evictions that have already been filed are on hold. Rent is still due April... 1 but if you can't make your rent, you must notify the landlord in writing no later than 7 days past when your rent is due as to why you can't pay your rent. (again, the moratoriums apply to wage loss related to COVID-19). Your landlord will likely require documentation, such as a pay stub demonstrating reduced wages or better yet, a letter from your employer (like the one you're supposed to get in the mail) or your application for unemployment. See the following article for details: https://www.kqed.org//a-guide-to-bay-area-eviction-morator

Here is the latest on Shelter in place and Social distancing guidelines were expanded until May 3, 2020. Why 6 ft? Because just breathing without coughing or sneezing, the air you exhale expands 3-6 feet, means we're breathing what's come out of each other's lungs if we're standing within that distance. Additionally, many viruses fall to the ground within the distance of 6 ft. See the following link to get an idea of how far 6 ft is using everyday objects (average sedan, a sofa, 2 golden retrievers standing nose to tail). https://www.cnn.com//six-feet-social-distance-e/index.html
