We had a virtual 'Zoombie' table at today's annual Silicon Valley Council of #BeOurGuest20 luncheon, mingled with friends in the chat, heard from County of Santa Clara, California Supervisor Cindy Chavez, and SVCN CEO Kyra Kazantzis, bid on pumpkins and had a low-but-not-completely-embarrassing trivia game score. A #TBT post updated for modern times: We had the pleasure of attending the grand opening of Villas on the Park during the first week of March/approximately 7,399 weeks ago (the time of the elbow bumps and about a week before the SIP order began). In the months that followed we had the pleasure to talk with a couple of the residents: Arthur and Sandy. Like 78 of the 83 residents of this great Affirmed Housing / PATH - Making it Home development, Arthur and Sandy got help from... Housing Trust's Finally Home Security Deposit program...and that program is a direct beneficiary of the Applied Materials Silicon Valley Turkey Trot. Big thanks to the City of Mountain View - City Hall for co-hosting the #EmpowerHomebuyersSCC webinar last week - we had close to 70 attendees, and we had a chance to ask about buying a home in the #COVID19 pandemic: When asked "Has the pandemic affected your decision to buy a home?" 30% polled indicated the pandemic has made them not wait...and 20% of the audience said they are planning to purchase their first home in the next three to six months. At 11:00am today there is a virtual groundbreaking ceremony for a project we helped fund with Satellite Affordable Housing Associates - SAHA: a lot of partners and even more collaboration came together to help fund 35 affordable homes for seniors in #Berkeley. All Souls Episcopal Parish in Berkeley, CA will be livestream the groundbreaking of Jordan Court on their website www.allsoulsparish.org. Tune in!
