Hades is here to show up all of the black cats this year At 5 years old he's got it all figured out. He loves playing fetch and has shown us that he enjoys the company of other male pups and people as well. Read more about him at highsierraanimalrescue.org and send in an online app if you are interested!
Lucy was adopted last month by a very special person! This sweet pup came to our rescue and our hearts dropped when we heard the news that her heart worm test came back positive. Heart worms are a life threatening disease so we knew that we had to get her on a treatment plan and into a quiet, calm home as soon as possible. Her angel of an adopter met her and fostered her for a few days before deciding that they were destined to be together. Lucy is on her way to living a heart worm free life and in the kind of home we wished she'd find.
Our sweet mama, Kimber, found her incredible forever family on 9/9/20! Kimber (bottom right) came from a hoarding situation and actually ended up giving birth at our rescue. She had 3 healthy puppies after a particularly difficult birth. Our techs stayed with her well after hours to make sure that she was safe and comfortable. We are overjoyed for her and her new family. They knew that it would take time for her to warm up and feel at home but they didn't mind one bit. We are so grateful for the patience and understanding of our adopters.
It's funny face friday! Here's our buddy Bubba having a blast with another HSAR pup. He is extremely affectionate and playful and we're over here wondering where his perfect person is. Could it be you? Read more at highsierraanimalrescue.org and fill out an online app!
Oh, you didn't hear? Oversized tongues and squishy rolls are now in Stitch is still hanging around the rescue looking for his perfect one pet home. Read more about him at highsierraanimalrescue.org and send on in an app if you are interested in meeting him!
Roo was adopted on 5/26/20! Since then she's traveled across the entire country and settled in NY where she plays at the dog park twice a day and watches squirrels from her window while her mom works. She came to HSAR severely under socialized and likely abused but she's slowly learning to trust others. She has been an enormous blessing to her human and she is loved beyond belief. Hooray for you, Roo(ster)!
11 puppies. 1 litter. All of them found their forever homes last week. We are so happy for them and relieved for their mama. It takes a lot of time, energy, and money to provide for 11 pups. Please consider making a one time or monthly donation to our rescue today you can even donate toward our ongoing raffle with the Brewing Lair and win a prize in return for your donation! All of this information and more can be found at highsierraanimalrescue.org congrats to these rascals and all of their new family members!
Coalette (4 months) is here at HSAR and she's as cute as a button! She'll be a medium to large dog and she will be your very best friend. Sweet, ready to learn, full of fun. Read more about her at highsierraanimalrescue.org and send in an online app to meet her!
Here is Riley with his new, incredible family! We knew that one day he would find caring people willing to accept him for who he is and continue to work on his behavior. He is so lucky to have them and we are too. We are relieved and thankful to know that he's loved, comfortable, and exactly where he belongs. Right on, Riley!
The. Boys. Quinn (left) met the most perfect pack for him on 9/3 after being returned to HSAR. He struggled with being at our rescue but as soon as he went outside and met Tuck (another HSAR alumnus), it was like his whole life changed in an instant. They are all so happy together and it was so sweet to see this adoption unfold.
Big, goofy, baby Gus went home on 7/14! He was so unsure of himself and his surroundings but quickly figured out that his new home was so much more than just "ok". He's come out of his shell and spends his days playing and lounging. We couldn't have asked for a better life for our sweet friend!

1 Year Adoption Pupdate! Ryder spent 7 months at our rescue before his mama came along and scooped him up into her arms and heart. Sometimes perfectly good dogs sit around waiting for no good reason. That was the case for this guy. It was all worth the wait though because he now spends his days at the San Rafael dog park and even goes to doggy daycare. Everywhere he goes he is loved. That's why we rescue
Mr. Meeko was adopted this past May. He was part of a litter HSAR had taken in at an early age and nursed back to health. He went on to find his very own pack and now spends his days playing frisbee in the meadow and hiking with his sister. They even go on some super cool adventures, near and far. Many happy years ahead, Meeko!
