It’s lunch time!! Did you know that it is very important what we put into our bodies?? Unhealthy sugars are not good for our tummies or our teeth. We encourage children and families to provide a healthy lunch, with a main meal, a fruit, a vegetable, a fun little snack and a beverage (preferably water) but sometimes juice is great too!! ... Here are some facts about lunch from around the world... Happy Monday!! Before the class goes outside they are encouraged to pick a SITE WORD from the wall. The children are learning recognition and correspondence...... -a picture -a word -a letter -a sound Sometimes they say what the picture is, but not the word on the card. Some just say the color of the object on the card. They’re isn’t a wrong answer of the way that they think...it’s amazing on how the mind works for each individual child. It’s Flannel Board Bible Friday!! The children are learning the Bible Truth hands on. Each Friday Ms. Madlen brings the Bible Truths to life with the flannel board and flannel Bible characters. After she shares the Bible Truths with the children, they are able to explore, enjoy and retell the story to themselves or one another. What a great way to end our week. We love the desires of our hearts to learn about God. Have a great weekend!!

Late Post: Kimochi Wednesday!! The BUTTERFLIES learned that it’s ok to be cranky, frustrated or sometimes hurt. They talked about how we can be friendly and help friends by encouraging them to use a happier feeling after they have felt their original feelings...... The DRAGONFLIES learned about some different emotions and what their meanings are... disappointed which we also tied in with cranky and frustrated. The children love having Kimochi Wednesdays. They love to have the dialogue as learn from each other of how they feel and be more expressive. How did use you Kimochi’s??

What are Land Mammals?? Is our Science theme this month. The BUTTERFLIES are learning about Land Mammals and today they are learning about Elephants. Facts about Elephants:... -Elephants are the largest living land mammal -Elephants can’t jump -Elephants can live up to be 70 years old -Elephants can communicate with each other over far distances (I hope they don’t get charged by the minute, lol). Butterfly in the sky, I can go twice as high, take a look it’s in a book a Reading Rainbow!! The children made some Butterflies!! Materials:... -paint (your choice of color, 3 or more) -paper (cut out like a Butterfly) Instructions: 1. Cut out paper like a Butterfly 2. Place dots of paint towards the middle of one side of the paper 3. Fold the paper in half 4. Spread out the paint with your fingers while paper is folded 5. Open up your Butterfly and see what you created Enjoy your Butterfly Craft. Can you make a Butterfly and share with us??
