In remembrance of Charles Lindbergh's death on August 26, 1972, we should revisit his brave flight across the Atlantic in 1927. Read his history and then come in and notice the eagle wing feathers that created his unique Sioux headdress, located in our Anthropology wing.

August 8, 1950, Florence Chadwick swam from France to England in 13 hours 23 minutes. Summer 1951, she swam back and became the first woman to swim it both ways. You can visit Chadwick’s fur bathing suit, swim goggles, and silver platter award in the Natural History wing, loaned to us by Gloria and Steve Chadwick.
