Happy Thanksgiving during these unusual times, America’s food supply has been abundant and affordable. Much of what we eat comes from local farms! Farmland Working Group is committed to our most important work, educating and advocating for the long term protection of our regional farmland NO FARMLAND, NO FOOD. Our region of the Central Valley (Livingston area) is a major player in America’s sweet potato production, only second to the Tar Heel State, North Carolina. FWG ...is thankful for our farmers, the Central Valley’s rich soils, Mediterranean climate and affordable irrigation water. Due to this set of rare and highly desirable characteristics making us the most productive ag region, we are home to over 230 diverse agricultural commodities, some of which are pictured here in this post. All photos shown are credited to our board members. What ag commodity are you most looking forward to enjoying this afternoon at your thanksgiving dinner? Let us know in the comments!
