RESCUE IN PROGRESS! URGENT FUNDS NEEDED! We received a call from Lucerne Valley about a momma dog who had given birth in a dirt "den" that she built. Momma was too fearful to be approached and very protective of her puppies. Thanks to an incredible effort by experienced trappers/trackers who worked for several weeks to make inroads, momma and her babies have been saved and are on their way to the vet right now. We got an unexpected bonus of trapping a male dog as well--pos...sibly daddy, possibly a passing stranger! We welcomed him into the rescue raft as well. While we are so happy to have this little family safe from the elements and from predators, we were not prepared for the expenses that 9 new rescues will bring. We are asking for help with costs for exam, boarding, deworming, vaccines (when they are older) and eventually spay and neuter for 9 dogs. We are estimating that each of these new arrivals will cost approximately $300-$350 when all is said and done. Can you help us raise $3100 for their upcoming needs? We would be grateful for any amount. Thank you.

ERNIE UPDATE! Hi everyone, it's me...Ernie. Remember me? I got injured and shattered the bones in my leg. Boy, that hurt! I am still working on getting better....bones heal slowly, you know? I went to see the vet and he told me I am doing well, but I have to stay on doggy bed rest for four more weeks! Can you believe it? I didn't really like that, but GSROC told me it was really important. Then they gave me a special chew toy - well that sold the deal. I will be a good boy and stay on doggy bed rest. So, that's my update.....I am doing well, but not out of the woods yet. I wanted to thank everyone who helped donate towards my vet costs too! Thank you.

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION Hi! My name is Pete and I hear that November is ADOPT A SENIOR DOG MONTH. I am hoping that means this will be the month I get adopted! Can you help me? Right now, I am in a GSROC foster home and my foster mom likes to take my picture. Can you tell? She says it is important for me to show my "softer side." I am not exactly sure what that means....after all, I AM a GSD - but I didn't argue. I figure she knows what she's talking about. OH! Here'...s some info about me......I am 8 years old, don't care for small dogs...they are just so small...but, I LOVE to play ball....I keep it near me when I take my afternoon snooze.....and I am excelling at artistic poses.
