Hello, this is Sensei Scott at Golden Tiger Karate. I just received my first COVID 19 vaccine this morning at 8am. It was the Pfizer vaccine administered at CSUB. It took 27 minutes which included my wait time of 15 minutes. It was very simple and quick. I highly recommend you make an appointment through My Turn and get over to CSUB. There was about 50 people at 8 am and twice that many people, well organized, to help us get the vaccine. When I left there was nobody in line. Some people were showing up without an appointment and they were going over to an additional station to give their information and then going in for a their shot. I drove over to Krispy Kreme donuts and they gave me a free glazed donut by presenting my Vaccination Record Card I was given. Let’s all look forward to the good times ahead! Sensei Scott...

We have decided to wait until the end of November to open for evening and weekend group classes for your safety. We will continue to teach private lessons. The cost is $140 per month for one lesson per week with one additional family member free. Homeschool classes are available Monday and Thursday’s mid mornings. Thank you for continuing to stand strong during the pandemic. Sensei Scott’s victory garden is almost done. The squash, cucumbers, and cantaloupe were wonderful. The tomatoes are continuing to produce. There’s nothing like a vine ripened tomato harvested in the cool of the morning. The chives produced two harvests before they headed out and were weed whacked off. We are hopeful there is another chives harvest as fall arrives. Here at the karate school we are conducting private lessons only and/or virtual lessons. If you are interested please call Sensei Scott. Thank you for standing strong during the pandemic. The virtual martial arts show started today and we expect to learn new information about operating the dojo during this pandemic. My Coronavirus test results were negative so I’m good to go. Thank you for standing strong during the pandemic. Walks in the park at 6am are the greatest now, the air is cool and fresh and I’m almost by myself other than protector of the house, Rommel. The victory garden produced a great crop of fresh chives and several zucchini squash this morning. As you can see in the picture, the tomatoes are about to be vine ripened. The Coronavirus is spreading rapidly right now so you need to keep yourself and your family protected at all times.... I had a lung infection this week and my doctor tested me for the virus. I’m feeling fine today and I’ll keep you posted. It’s not looking good to open the school anytime soon so we are considering a at home program individually tailor to all our students different ages and go back to virtual classes. Thank you for standing strong during the pandemic. Phase three has began here in Kern County. The health department informed us this morning that gyms have permission to open as long as they follow the CA state health department guidelines. As far as martial arts schools, we are waiting for our specific guidelines which should be out within a couple of weeks. In the mean time, Sensei Michael and Sensei Scott will continue recording training videos for the next few weeks. We are looking forward to reopening soon and to be together with all you training again!

Thank you for standing strong during the coronavirus. My victory garden is producing many vegetables. Kern County is saying that we can reopen when the California state health department passes down guidance rules to insure we are working to help stop the spread of the virus. This information is expected to be passed to us, within a few days. Still, at this time, I have not heard that a single student or parent of Golden Tiger Karate has had the virus. But that doesn’t mean... that we should not make a 100% effort to follow the rules and provide protection for all of us at the karate school. We have purchased temperature gages, masks and cleaning equipment. We will post signs and inform you what the rules will be, as soon as we know them. Private lessons in small groups are also available. We will call all the families of the students of our school as soon as we determine the day we will open. Thank you for standing strong during this pandemic. My victory garden is flourishing and squash flowers are coming out. I can’t wait for fresh tomatoes. Sensei Michael and I have produced 12 at-home training videos. Most students have completed April tip testing. We will start May tip testing in the next few weeks. The cost to participate is 65 per month. We are continuing cleaning and straightening gear shelves in the dojo and we are ready to open as soon as our governing body tells us and we understand the rules. Thank you for standing strong during this pandemic. I hope all of you are taking the time to get all your stuff in order. My garage actually looks like a garage now, my back yard is full of vegetable plants coming up and my house is a little cleaner! We painted several walls in the karate school, cleaned the overhead light fixtures and will scrub the mats Thursday morning. We have ordered temperature gages to measure forehead temperatures, if they are needed. I also ordered 5...0 standard small mask for instructors to wear, if they are needed. We are hoping that we will be released to open the school during May. We have called every student during the last month and made calls again to arrange video tip testing for those students continuing lessons in April. Thank you for standing strong during this Coronavirus pandemic. I have been calling all the Golden Tiger Karate parents and have not found one that had a family member test positive for the virus. This goes to show us that we constitute a group of people that are intelligent enough to use good methods in avoiding the virus. Even yesterday it was reported that only 22 people were hospitalized here in Kern County for the virus. Our karate training videos are up and running with... 101 students continuing training in the safety of their homes. Thank you. Unfortunately I heard President Trump say this morning that the small business loan program has been executed flawlessly. I have first hand knowledge that it hasn’t. Sensei Michael and I worked 12 hours to fill out the paperwork for the EDL (Economic Disaster Loan) and sent it in quickly on March 30th and never heard anything back from the Small Business Administration. We were told the checks were coming out immediately to help us pay rent or payroll. Then we heard there was no more money so we started filling out the PPP loan to help us with payroll and now I heard on the news this morning that it has run out of money. I think the government should have spread out the money available to small businesses more equally. I believe Golden Tiger Karate will survive this pandemic as long as we can get back into business before the checking account goes to zero. We are suppose to peak on the number of people getting sick on April 12th and then the number of people getting sick will taper towards zero by June 1st.
