I can't emphasize enough how important it is get all people who ride bikes to become involved in a local or statewide cycling advocacy group. The California Bicycle Coalition is a great place to start. Their work at the state level to increase safer cycling in our state is ongoing and unstoppable, but they need your help! Well, I didn't think it was possible to top yesterday's ride on the bike trail before Amgen starts on Sunday. Boy, was I wrong. Look who I ran into! (Curse my helmet hair). Thor Hushvold and Michael Schaer were at Folsom Bike this afternoon chowing on some yummy sandwiches and hanging out. Saving Mark Cavendish for tomorrow!!!!

The California Bicycle Coalition has just opened up registration for their inaugural California By Bike "Surf N Turf" tour, a five-day fully supported ride from Santa Barbara to San Diego.
